Pregnancy

The therapists that work with a MOMASSAGE Conception, Birth and Beyond client have advanced training in the physiological, emotional, and structural changes that occur during pregnancy. They have also trained to understand the complications and risk factors that may occur during this time. This allows them to safely identify when a doctor’s approval will be necessary as well as how to work with high risk pregnancies.

What makes Pregnancy massage different?

Positioning on the table: Various different positions are used to help support the mother and baby through the massage session. Prone (face down), Semi- Reclining, Side-lying, and Forward-leaning positions may be used throughout the sessions.

Areas of focus: Full body massages can be quite effective for relaxation during pregnancy. Often times the main focus is to the hips, back, shoulders and neck area as these are the areas that undergo the most stress and change during the length of a pregnancy.

Your therapist will always work with you to figure out what is the best for you. Comfort and safety during each session are always the most important element of each massage.
